Clean Your Fridge

The operation of cleaning is one often overlooked when it comes to those who fear what it is that is buried within that has to go. With strings gripping our essence, it is difficult to grasp the true condition of our hearts.

Fridges...If I were to make a better analogy, it wouldn't make sense. The reason I say this is because everyone can relate to having or at least seeing one. They're a common denominator in most people's lives.

We are what we eat as they say and we store what we keep or find hard to swallow.

We=the content of our fridgeâž—what we do with it. We understand this fact, which is why so many of us are afraid to look within and scourge the fridge.

Don't you get sick and tired of eating hate? Bitterness? Anxiety? Depression? Fear? and these are just a few examples but those along with the many others, have to go. We who have this problem of eating fruitless things need to stop eating from empty containers that just take up space.

So are you sick of it? It's most likely that you are, but you don't know how to stop; you don't know how to let go. You don't have to do it alone and I fear that's what a lot of us believe when it comes to God. You feel as if you have to do it so he doesn't have to, expecting him to walk into your heart saying, "well done," No. He was always and is always going to be standing at the door of that fridge with a basket of foods only few can imagine partaking of. He's waiting for you to let him in. He wants you to let him in so that he can clean you out. Whether he teaches you, guides you, or puts you in particular situations, he does it with the intent of putting new fruit within you. Salvation is the only way to obtain such masterful cleansing.

Acts 2:38- Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Repentance: In this case, it is the distaste and turning away from the Old way you used the food in your fridge or in other words actively turning away and tossing the food that is rotting within you out. It has to go.

Baptism: This is the opening of the fridge and deep cleaning that takes place irradiating the lingering mold of bitterness and sin. it is the departure of the past and the process of making room.

Receiving the Holy Ghost: This is God's entrance and the touching and infilling of new seeds of new fruit. This is the beginning of a lifelong process. This is the best feeling ever/best experience ever. in the terms of the many "I feel like I'm on a cloud!" God's presence introduces a whole new world of flavor that can only be savored with him...freedom. With him, you are no longer confined to the isle of darkness but open the gourmet lists of righteousness.

This got spiritual but hear me out. In these days God often gives us small tastes as samples but we would rather throw that sample away to enjoy the empty pleasures and complexities of the darkness. This is why Revelation 3:20 says "Behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and him with me."

Isn't that crazy? Our God, our creator, stands at the door and knocks, patiently waiting on US. He doesn't rush or pressure us into his love. He simply wants us to open the door and let him in. He won't criticize your fridge, he'd rather offer help maintaining and fixing it. Matthew 5:6 says "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."

If you're sick of eating from the catalog of Galatians 5:19-21 "Now the work of the flesh are manifest which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in times past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

A couple of you flinched, I hope I didn't offend you but these things are what a lot of us eat and partake of daily without question.

Stop and try to savor that stuff. You can't because there's nothing savory about it. Stop trying to justify your sorrow, pain, and affliction by adding more it. Eventually it'll cost your life. If you starve long enough, what do you expect? The only one out is in. Evaluate yourself and listen for that gentle knocking.

if you're looking for love- God has it for you.

If you're looking for peace- God has it for you.

Freedom- God has it for you.

Joy- God has it for you.

Happiness- God has it for you.

Security- God has it for you.

Whatever you need that is good- God has it FOR you.

Some of these things you can't find without him. Salvation, follow Acts 2:38, make a choice. what do you want to eat? Even if you're unsure now, I dare you to step away from the things you do and the people you hang around that don't benefit or push you to do or be better for yourself. I challenge you to stand up to your oppressors, open up your Bibles and partake of God's full course meal that's waiting to be instilled in you.

All it takes is for you to reach into the back of that fridge and take a bite of faith and courage. You're not alone...empty your fridge with God.
