What is a dream but a figment of our imagination imparted to us to pursue? What is a worthy pursuit? in this life we are blessed with an opportunity to thrive, using all of our latent gifts and talents. We are given a chance to expand beyond our current limitations in the most intimate way possible. What do I mean by this? When you are chasing a dream, that dream draws more of you out than you thought you were capable of having. It draws out insecurities, thoughts, gifts, and talents. It draws out the real you...which is frightening when you're afraid of yourself.

I'll keep it 💯 with you guys, It's not easy to start chasing a dream when you have no idea where you're going or how you're going to get th

ere. I'll tell you from experience that when I gave my life to Jesus I was given a new dream. Initially, before God, I was writing to strictly make money, gain popularity, and thrive without ever needing or asking for help. I thought I was capable of doing everything by myself, for myself without help. I started a ton of different ideas, dreams, and ventures to become a millionaire fast without ever lacing them with a legitimate purpose. They all flopped and are now currently six feet under. I had no one, nothing, and no real drive outside of material gain. Everything I did was for my own gain. I was so bad to the point that I'd come up with ideas to help the environment just so I could turn a profit off of them. Not a bad thing but did I care about the purpose I placed them behind? I'll answer that with a question...do you see the product? One of the keys to chasing a dream is to look outside of yourself: lesson 1

This was back in my middle school days so don't judge me! Looking into the present and into the new dream/vision God has given me, I want to explain how it's not easy to start without an idea of where you're going or how to get there. Dream publications which is one of two growing and developing branches of the Dream Chaser Nation is the dream with a new vision and purpose. What is that dream/vision? Our vision as a building publishing company is to publish and write books that inspire, motivate, and challenge others aka the reader to expand beyond their current limitations. Our goal is to change lives one small world at a time. What I mean by this is there are lessons hidden within every poem, messages within every story, and questions that make you think as you engage in each dialogue. Our books hold the emotional weight and sincerity of the youth. We want to inspire other youth, we’re the next generation charged to impact the world…why not do it positively? The goal is simply to help people and strengthen the kingdom of Heaven. I don't necessarily know every step to chasing this dream, a lot of the time when I pray the answer is "wait." What am I supposed to do while I wait?

I didn't and even now, I don't know. Sometimes I'd overwork myself, hoping I'd make ground and get nowhere. Other times I'd sit and ponder the next move, but nothing came. I tried many things and the only thing I could do after a while was let go of the reins. Once again I had no one supporting me from the inside...It was just me doing all of the work. I was pushing, writing, editing, designing, etc. But I have Jesus which made me certain that eventually, I'd make it to where he wants me to be. Now, after 3 years and 3 names, we're finally making ground. I had no idea what I was doing, I still don't but I'm learning. I had no idea where I was going, but I'm still moving. God was showing me the small steps and allowing me to experience the results. Faith is sometimes blind and that is crucial when it comes to a dream. Don't give up, because I'll tell you that when I first started I wanted to stop after my first book, "Afterthoughts".

Writing is my way of getting my thoughts out. I speak on youtube and Instagram but writing is where everything flows the best. every now and then I have to be reminded of the reason why I do what I do not just as an author but as a publisher also. It's not about me, it's about enhancing my readers and authors, building them up, and helping them find their true passion and purpose.

I'm not sorry about the backstory but here are 6 steps (in no order) to start chasing your God-given dream.

  1. Take the first step - look into what it is that is being laid on your heart

  2. Commit - know that you will put your time, energy, and effort into this at 100%

  3. Press - don't give up after the first opposing push

  4. Pray - ask for direction...you are not alone

  5. Find reason/purpose - what is your why?

  6. Have faith - nothing is ever achieved in a moment. it's a process, a journey, a lifestyle. The more challenging something is, the more value it has. Accept the trials and go on faithfully seeking God through it all. TRUST HIM!
